J.P. "PEP" Pool Jr.

On June 22, 1922 Joe N. Pratt's father-in-law, J.P. "Pep" Pool Jr. established in Victoria, Texas, the Pool Insurance and Real Estate firm. In 1935 Mr. L.C. Hooper, Mr. Pools brother-in-law, joined as a partner to form Pool and Hooper. The Agency served the interest of ranching, business, the oil & gas industry and the needs of home and automobile owners. Victoria Federal Savings Association was also organized at this time, and was operated out of the Agency's office. Both Mr. Pool and Mr. Hopper were members of the Board of Directors of Victoria Federal Savings Association, and acted as managers of the Association.

Over the years Mr. Pool and Mr. Hooper had purchased several insurance agencies and managed several other agencies. Upon the deaths of Mr. Pool and Mr. Hooper, the agency changed its name in 1968 to Associated Insurance Agencies to better communicate to the public the nature of the organization and the broad scope of insurance products available. In 1981 Joe N Pratt, son-in-law of Mr. Pool and one of the owners of Associated Insurance Agencies, formed a new partnership with his son Jeffery Pool Pratt and Ronald L Morris under the name of Joe N Pratt Insurance
